Exposición de arte Sonoro

Obra de Angela Bulloch: "Disenchanted forest"

"It's easy to get off to a bad start with Florian Hecker. He's noisy, and he's very well known for it, so the very mention of his name in certain circles will have pseudss quaking at the knees and running in fear, but for the rest of us, we'll be clawing at the walls in anticipation of his next move. It polarises people like that, and about time too - there's no room in this world for average music, music that makes absolutely no impression on people whatsoever. Anyway, the man must have impressed somebody, as Angela Bulloch chose him to prepare an hour long soundtrack to her exhibition at the Tate Modern (it's still running apparently if anyone fancies it). He's done an amazing job of it too, sidestepping the harsh digital noise he's best known for and preparing something a little more delicate, more detailed and more restrained. Parts of the soundtrack even skate close to the early electronic tinkering you'd expect to hear from Xenakis or Stockhausen and in my opinion that's a very good thing indeed. I imagine that the piece worked absolutely perfectly in an installation environment, heard in 10 minute sittings, but listening to it from beginning to end is equally as satistying. The Piece has a narrative and moves quickly, but it comes across as a complete work, 50 minutes long rather than small hurried vignettes. Anyone interested in the far end of experimental electronics should check this without delay - a marvellous, varied and gripping work from one of the true masters. Highly recommended."
